Evangelist DeLisa Reed has definitely been chosen in the furnace of affliction (Isaiah 48:10).  Born to a teenage mother in 1961, God’s choice of Dee originated in her birth mom, DeLoise Bean, who while pregnant and in living in Missouri, was inspired to read the entire Bible to her as an unborn child.  At the age of nine months she was given to relatives, a loving pastor and wife, Rev. and Mrs. Russel M. Nuckols, who resided in Oklahoma.  They reared and loved her unconditionally and later officially adopted her at the age of 13.  Throughout her childhood she was brought up in the fear and admonition of the Lord ministering even as a child at the local, district, and state levels while under her father and mother’s guidance and determination for their daughter to become a young lady of excellence in the Lord.  Therefore, from her complicated birth throughout challenges endured in life, God has used these experiences to hone, shape, and develop her into the passionate Bible teacher & inspirational speaker she is today.

Evangelist Reed is saved, sanctified & Holy Ghost filled and has fully committed her life to the service of the Lord.  She was called to the teaching ministry in 1988 while a member of First Church of God in Christ in Coffeyville, Kansas under the leadership of the late Elder John H. Watson, Sr. and Mother Dorothy Mae Watson.  Her ministry, especially as an Aspiring Missionary, was closely monitored and molded by her church mother, Mother Verna L. Berry; her District Missionary, Mother M. Louise Green of the Fort Scott District in Kansas; and, her State Supervisor, Mother Roberta D. Thuston of Kansas East.  She was officially licensed in June 1998 as an Evangelist Missionary in the Church of God in Christ, Inc. under the leadership of the late Bishop J. Neaul Haynes, Jurisdictional Prelate of Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction and the late Mother Freddie L. Carter, State Supervisor of Women. Within the Church of God in Christ, Inc., she is a member of Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ in Euless, TX. She formerly served as District and Jurisdictional Chairlady of the Youth Department. She currently works for the Office of the Jurisdictional Bishop and in August 2017 was elevated to the role of District Missionary for the Cathedral District of Texas Northeast First under the leadership of her pastor, the Honorable Bishop James E. Hornsby and the late Supervisor of Women, Mother Pia Haynes Williams. On the national level, she is a regularly published writer for the “The Whole Truth,” the international magazine publication of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. & in 2018 was a featured contributing author for the COGIC International Department of Women Leadership Empowerment Series.

Evangelist Reed has been a public school educator, serving in various leadership roles, for over 35 years.  She currently holds an Associate of Arts in Office Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Business Education and a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Educational Supervision and Administration. She is currently a candidate for a Doctorate in Education through Texas Wesleyan University. She has won numerous awards in education throughout her professional career such as Teacher of the Year Nominee, Spirit of the Warrior Teacher – Rotary Award Winner, Teacher of the Month as well as being named Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She is a trainer for Secondary Business Integrated Learning programs in the AISD in addition to teaching a full schedule. As an educator in Kansas, she served in several administrative roles for the USD 445 School District ranging from Business Department Chair to serving on the accreditation team as well as a district recruiter. She has been married for 40 years to her companion, Clint, and is the mother of two adult children, Calvin and Charyss.  In addition, she has three handsome grandsons, Jadon, Zachariah and Cháiayr and one beautiful granddaughter, Kynédeígh.

For sure, as a wife, mother, grandmother, but more importantly, a daughter of the Lord, every encounter experienced in life has deepened her resolve to strengthen those she encounters with a life-changing Word from God that will transform lives as commanded in Luke 22:32 “ . . . .when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.”

So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,

Philippians 2:1-11 ESV
